Prior to entering the funeral profession, Emma graduated as a Licensed Paramedic at The Academy of Emergency Training.
Although she is trained as a paramedic, Emma felt life calling her into the funeral service. Emma started at Toneff Funeral Services in September 2011 as a part time / on call funeral director’s assistant. In June 2012 she accepted an interim position with the B.C. Coroner’s Transfer Service to extend her knowledge in funeral and mortuary science.
Emma returned to Toneff’s in October 2012 to begin her apprenticeship as a Funeral Director with the Canadian College of Funeral Service. Emma’s dedication to studies has helped her become one of the top students in her class. She graduated as a licensed funeral director in September 2014 and her academic achievement in the area of Funeral Law earned her the Arbor Jurisprudence Award. Emma loves the outdoors and in her spare time, she loves to spend time with family and friends going on hikes, enjoys beach fires and playing with her two fur babies, a Black Lab named Lily and a French Bulldog named Teddy.
After graduating from The Academy of Learning in Penticton and obtaining her Medical Office Assistant and Nursing Unit Clerk diplomas, Jennifer returned to Vancouver Island with her small family to raise her son Tyler alongside her husband John. Having spent most of her teenage years in Lake Cowichan and Nanaimo it was wonderful to come home to the island.
Jennifer joined the Toneff Funeral Services team in October 2016 utilizing her skills from her education as the Office Administrator. With her warm personality, she is a perfect fit for the Toneff family.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys time with her family and friends, including her beagle Louie, cooking, knitting and reading.
