Minassian, Yesaie
Dec 20th, 1938 – November 25th, 2021
On November 25th, 2021, our beloved Father, Grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully in his 83rd year.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Rosalie; children Hovnan, Elisa, Nouriza (Mark); grandchildren Rosalie (Kegham), Siroun, Jessica, Vanessa, Natalina; sister Araxi; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Elise & Hovnan, and brother Khoren.
Yesaie was born in Alexandria, Turkey to Armenian Genocide survivors. He proudly served in the Lebanese military for over 25 years. He met the love of his life, Rosalie, in Beirut and would marry her in 1964. He brought wife and three children to Canada during the civil war in Lebanon, landing in Sudbury, Ontario.
He valued family and friends; loved puzzles, movies, playing tavli and card games; and most of all, he cherished family gatherings. He spoke four languages: Armenian, Arabic, Turkish, and English. Yesaie would go on to be a proud “Dede” to five, wonderful granddaughters.
Yesaie battled diabetes and dementia through his later years and would eventually succumb to heart failure, passing away peacefully in his sleep.
A Visitation and Service will be held starting at 12:00pm on December 7th, 2021, at Telford’s Burial and Cremation Centre, at 112 French Street, Ladysmith, British Columbia, V9G 1A5. Yesaie will be laid to rest in the Town of Ladysmith Cemetery, at 320 Christie Rd.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Telford’s Burial and Cremation Centre for their help and support.
