Wendy Elizabeth (Mairs) Martin

Wendy is really missed by her husband Ken and her daughters Amanda and Nicole (Cole). Wendy was the 1st Canadian generation in her family.

She is predeceased by her mom and dad, Dorothy and Dave, 3 brothers Dave, Glen, Merv and her sister Dorothy. Wendy was born March 30th, 1958 and passed June 26, 2025, about 6 years after her brother Merv had passed.

Wendy retired May 2019 where she was employed as a cashier by IGA/Save on Foods, a job which she really enjoyed working with her coworkers and getting to know her customers.

Wendy was diagnosed on June 1st, 2024 with stage 4 anal cancer which is incurable. She spent the month of August and half of September having radiation treatment, it seemed to shrink the tumor. April 6th this year we had to call the ambulance people to come and help get her off the floor. After they examined her it was determined Wendy was in need of hospital. After going to the ER they put her in ICU and then to a regular room. On May 15th, Wendy was taken by ambulance to Victoria for a petscan, she got her results back showing the cancer had come back with a vengeance. Fast forward to the week she passed -  Tuesday we had  fire and ambulance come and help get her off the floor but she refused to go to the hospital. The next day, the same thing happened but this time she agreed to go to the hospital. She passed the next day at 7:15 am. 

Wendy will always be loved and never forgotten. One last thing, Wendy had a lot of friends she adored and they adored her. As for a wake for there is nothing planned right now but maybe later.
