Wendy Briggs Obituary

It is with a profound sense of loss and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wendy Selma Elizabeth Briggs, a woman of incredible strength, indefatigable spirit, and infectious joy. Born on August 28, 1941, in Edmonton, Alberta, Wendy was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of those around her with her radiant smile and her vibrant personality. Her journey on earth came to a peaceful close on January 22, 2026.

Wendy's professional life was as vibrant and dynamic as she was. She served as an International Gate Agent with Air Canada in Vancouver, retiring in 1998. Her career was the embodiment of the St. Augustine quote, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." Wendy's job allowed her to explore new frontiers and touch lives across the globe, all while she used her warm demeanor and gift of gab to put anxious travelers at ease. Her retirement years were spent in the beautiful city of Nanaimo, British Columbia, where she embraced the tranquility of island living.

Wendy is survived by her beloved Marlee Campbell, who was always by her side, providing unconditional love and support. Wendy was predeceased by her father, George Briggs, and her mother, Joan McDonald. As we remember Wendy, we are reminded of a quote by Dr. Seuss that she loved, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Wendy's life was a testament to this philosophy; she faced every challenge with a smile and lived her life to the fullest, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and joy.

We invite all who knew Wendy to celebrate her remarkable life by sharing their memories and uploading photos to her memorial page. In doing so, we can keep the light of her spirit burning bright and remember the joy and happiness she brought into our lives.
