Wayne Lachlan Morrison

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wayne Morrison, age 51, who left us peacefully in his sleep on June 27, 2025, at his home in Courtenay, BC.

Wayne was full of life — a truly unique and fun-loving soul with a heart of gold. Known for his crazy and bizarre sense of humor, kindness, and generous spirit, he brought joy to everyone around him and was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wayne is predeceased by his grandparents Margaret Oram, Harold Russell, Leonard Duggan, Elsie, and William Twiner; his father James Twiner; his aunt Donna Russell; and cousin Kevin Riley.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother Janie Russell Bethune; his brother Donald Russell; his sisters Nicole and Janie Morrison, Amanda, and Cheyenne (Daniel) Twiner and Sarah and Joshua Bethune. Wayne also leaves behind his cherished nephews Kyle, Joshua, Jacob, Isaiah, Alexander, Dayton, Jayden, Brian, and Walker; nieces Eliza and Bella; Uncle Allan Duggan and family, Cousins, Brenda, John and Rob and many extended family members — including Christian, Brooklyn, and Kaleb — who all held a special place in his heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 12 noon at the Masonic Lodge, located at 2687 Dunsmuir Avenue, Cumberland, BC. Family and all friends are warmly invited to join us in honoring Wayne's life and sharing memories.

Wayne’s laughter, light, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be forever missed, never forgotten.

We would like to thank, Father Michael and Dr Booth, All the staff and residents/friends of Ryan hill, Island Health’s ICMT, and the Nursing Center, CVRC, Salvation Army and Comox Valley Hospital nurses and Dr’s for all their love and support over the past 2 years with Wayne. You all played a critical role in his life and for that we are forever grateful.
