Tommy Pedersen Obituary

Tommy died peacefully with his wife by his side after a battle with cancer, at the age of 76.

Tommy was born October 29, 1944 and raised in Esbjerg, Denmark, and moved to Canada in 1970 with his wife Vibeke shortly after they married. They lived in Vancouver, then Stories Beach where he built his own log home, before settling on Quadra Island to be closer to his work.

He worked as an engineer, tree faller, then in aquaculture. Boating and being on the ocean was his passion, and for the last 20 years healso loved playing golf. He was always good at working with his hands and creating things with wood. On Quadra he also got into farming, raising chickens, sheep and alpacas on a small acreage.

First and foremost he was a great husband, father, uncle, papa Tommy, and a good buddy to have a beer with. Tommy is survived by Vibeke, his wife of 52 years, daughters Lotte (Jim), Netta (Michael), and Kristy (Alan). He is also missed by his grandchildren Brodie, Jordan, Benjamin and Matthew, and his extended family back in Denmark including his sisters Annette (Hugo) and Margit (José). He is predeceased by his parents and his older brother Søren.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all his family and friends, Harbourside Medical and many other healthcare workers who supported Tommy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the Quadra Golf Club junior program.
