Thomas Edward Alexander

Thomas Edward Alexander, loving husband to Mary, caring father of Robert (Janice), Evelyn, Barry and Stephen, grandpa of 5 and great papa of 14, passed away on April 28, 2021 after a long battle with cancer and complications after surgery.

Tom was born in West Ham, London on September 29th, 1938 where his family, felt firsthand, the effects of war when their home was razed by incendiary bombs at the beginning of WW II. His family eventually settled in North Kent and Tom was educated at Dartford Grammar School prior to joining the HMS Worcester for Nautical Training.  It was while he was employed with Furness, Withy & Co that his shipped docked at Nanaimo, B.C., where he met his lifelong companion and wife Mary.  They were married in Winnipeg in 1960.

Through Mary, Tom was introduced to the Truth and baptized by the Christadelphians and began a new life as a brother in Christ, and an active member of the Winnipeg, Victoria, and Nanaimo ecclesias.

His love for the sea and sailing continued throughout his life, owning many types of sail boats, including time where Tom and Mary lived aboard a yacht “See Wolf” before moving back on land.

Tom will be missed by both his natural and ecclesial family as well as many of the friends he formed during his years in the business and sailing communities.

He now sleeps, awaiting the call of his Master Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead, when the Kingdom of God will be established for eternity upon this earth.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
