Theresa Doreen Cecil 1926 - 2023

Theresa Doreen Cecil nee Miley was born in Scarborough, Ontario November 15 1926, when Scarborough was still farm land. She died in Nanaimo, British Columbia on December 20, 2023. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, James Patrick Miley and Dorothy Emily Miley, and her husband Irvin Robert Cecil who died in 1996.

Theresa enjoyed an active 97 years. She retired from a management position after 20 years at Eaton's department store in the women's clothing department. She always took pride in caring for her garden. In her last 25 years after her husband died, she travelled to Norway and Sweden, three times, as well as to Jamaica, Ontario and South Carolina. She was a member of the Norway Club, and was President of the Yenta Club in Norway House Legion 53 in Victoria, She also belonged to Victoria's Lawn Bowling Club, and was active in a poetry group for many years.

Theresa will be missed by her children, Robert, James, Cynthia and Sandra Cecil. She was loved and will not be forgotten by her eight grandchildren, Christian, Andrew, Bryce, Breanne, Patrick, Wesley, Caroline and Coco. Theresa also had eight great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and devoted friends around the world.
