Sean Cameron Brossard (Harvey) Nov 18, 1977 – Jul 20, 2025
Our beloved Sean left this world on July 20, 2025 at 47 yrs old. He was Dad to Aislee and son of Cheryl and Dean (dcd2023) Harvey and Steve Brossard. Sean leaves his half-sisters Courtney and Ashley (Jon) and half-brother Mike, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was very close to his maternal grandparents Pat (dcd) and Vic Fish and his Uncle Bob (Fish). Sean loved to spend time with his grandparents at their pool and trailer. His Aunt Kathy (Rostron) and cousins - Chris and Jen Brossard, were also a joyful part of his happy early years. At 8yrs old, Sean was welcomed into the Harvey Clan and enjoyed time with his new Ontario family.
Since Sean was young, he dreamed of becoming a superhero - firstly Superman, then a fireman and also a ball player…. He excelled at most sports – he played soccer, softball, tried martial arts and gymnastics, swimming, skiing and biking. His true passion emerged as a young teen when he discovered his love for fishing. With passion and commitment, Sean spent all of his spare time at the ocean or rivers, in waders or on the water in a boat and at the water’s edge on a cliff hoping to reel in the “big” one. His dream job was to own a boat and become a fishing guide full time. Eventually, Sean did work as a fishing guide for a few years and became well known and the most “popular” guide. He worked with his Uncle Bob a few summers in the forest industry but on the water doing log recovery work. Sean was a hard worker – dedicated and diligent, but always finding fun in whatever he was doing. He spent many years in Alberta, working on the gas pipelines. Again, with everything Sean did, he worked very hard and played hard while in Alberta. His Uncle Joe and Auntie Laura rescued him in Vancouver with last minute travel plans to and from Alberta periodically. Sean was a “fly by the seat of your pants” kind of guy. He did not inherit the “plan ahead” gene.
Sean loved being a Dad to Aislee and together they enjoyed nature, as he helped nurture her love for the ocean. She has known many hours in a boat fishing, or hiking trails with her dad. She also inherited his kindness, his generosity and his sense of humour. Everyone who knew Sean will remember his charming personality and funny to the point of being annoying, and always making us laugh. He never took life too seriously, always finding humour in life.
Sean battled addiction much of his adult life, but through it all, he kept his family and friends close by…and kept us laughing with him. Sean felt defeated by his addiction and was suffering immensely these past few years, but he wouldn’t want to be remembered by his addiction, but as how he lived life – with passion, humour and reckless abandonment for fun and for his love of all things “fishy”.
Please join me for a gathering of “all things Sean” on Sep 11, 2025, 3-6pm at the Lantzville Legion (upstairs).
