Ruth Dunn

Ruth was born and raised in the farming community a few miles southwest of Enchant, Alberta. Ruth was the middle child of 9 children, 4 older and 4 younger. Ruth received her basic education in the Enchant school and obtained further certificates in later years from the Henderson Business School, Canadian School of Tax Accounting and numerous certificates in Business Administration from the Lethbridge Community College.

In 1952 Ruth married Alvin Dunn, the ceremony taking place in the Turin Alberta United Church. Ruth was a housewife and Mother for the first years of marriage until starting work in 1963 at various jobs using her business admin skills. Some of the places of employment were Trans Canada Freezers, Lethbridge Police Dept, Oliver Chemical Company in Lethbridge, Simpson Sears order office (Manager for 5 years) in Fort MacLeod, Walker Medical Clinic, Fort MacLeod Auction Mart, Claresholm Custom Fertilizers and CascadeFertilizers in Granum, Alberta.

Ruth was predeceased by parents Elias and Ragna Aanestad, husband Alvin, sisters Hanna and Edith, niece Donna, and great grandson Tristan. Ruth is survived by siblings Ruby, Esther, Mina, Rangvald, Clarence and Edwin, son Ritchie (Marilyn) and daughter Alvina (Wayne), grandchildren Wesley (Carrie), Lindsay (Steve), Candace (Michael) and Corinne. Great grandchildren Jordan, Ethan, Victoria, Maressa and Cadence. Plus, numerous other Dunn & Aanestad family members in Canada & Norway.

Ruth passed away peacefully at home with family at her side, following a lengthy health issue. The family wishes to extend a very heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Angela Logan of Cedar Medical Clinic for her care & compassion in looking after Mother.

Due to Covid restrictions, Ruth's ashes will be interned in the family plot in the Enchant Cemetery at a later date.
