Rosalyn (Rose) Lambert ( Nee: Stephens ) Obituary

In the early morning hours of November 15, Rosalyn Elva Lambert passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones nearby.  Rose was the youngest daughter of Arthur and Ann Stephens whose family already included her 5 brothers.  Rose grew up in Harewood on what was known as Five Acres. She worked at the BC Power Authority until she married Dennis Lambert on May 6, 1950.  They resided on the family farm on Quennell Lake where she dedicated herself to help on the farm, build their home and raise a family.  Over the years, their family grew to include five children: Doug, Ron, Carol, Barbara and Rhonda, and later, four grandchildren: Dean, Rebecca, Katie and Leah and great-grandson Benson.  Rose was a busy homemaker extensively caring for five growing children.  She shared her talents of baking and entertaining by hosting large inter-generational family holiday and Sunday dinners for many years.

Despite her chronic arthritic condition, Rose maintained her selfless disposition and her commitment to her family.  She taught us all so much about perseverance.  In her last few years with failing health, Rose was extremely appreciative to her caregiver Emma Soriano and supporting angels Petra, Stephanie and Emma.  The family is also grateful for the VIHA Palliative Care at Home program that helped allow Rose to spend her final days in the home she loved.

Rose was pre-deceased by son Doug and husband Dennis.  As Rose was known to enjoy an occasional happy hour, we ask that you remember her with a toast to celebrate her life.
