Ronald Tinkler Obituary

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our father Ron Tinkler.  He is predeceased by his loving wife Marion Irene (Johnson) Tinkler (August 1, 1932, to Oct. 3, 2001)

Ron has 3 wonderful daughters: Rhonda Hoegy, (Merle Hoegy), Janice McInnis, (Paul McInnis) and Marlies Tinkler, (Jonathan Veale).  He also has 7 grandchildren: Sean Hoegy (Dana), Laurin Hoegy, (Matt), Zachary Hoegy (Kelsey), Haley McInnis, Riley McInnis, McKinley Veale, and Georgia Veale, and 4 great grandchildren: Ameilia, Everly, Finn, and Malcolm.

Ron was born in Saskatoon, where he met the love of his life.  He moved to Vancouver briefly, then back to Saskatoon and that brought marriage and 2 children.  Off to Edmonton for work for a brief time and child number 3.  They spent many years in Calgary and then to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.

Ron played and coached with the Saskatoon Hilltop Football team and led them to a National Championship in 1959 as a rookie head coach.  He enjoyed watching sports on TV and listening to family chatter in the background.  We loved sitting and having a glass of wine with him.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Kidsport organization in your community.

We would like to thank Casa Loma Senior's Village, Comox Valley Senior's Village, the caregivers and staff on 3A at the Comox Valley Hospital and our dad's doctor.

May you walk in comfort and in peace.  Love you and miss you dad!
