Robert Ian McLeod

Ian McLeod passed away peacefully on the evening of January 30th 2026, in Courtenay, British Columbia at the age of 92.

Born June 22nd, 1933 in Edmonton, Alberta, Ian was the youngest of five children of William and Eva (nee Thompson) McLeod. As a young man, Ian was an active participant in the business ventures of his older brothers before beginning a highly successful and lengthy career in sales and senior management with G.H Wood & Company Ltd.

A promotion took Ian and his wife to Vancouver in 1990 and retirement a few years later saw them build a house on Salt Spring Island before moving to Kelowna and finally to Courtenay in 2010 where many members of Ian's family were living.

Ian was predeceased by his son Ken: brothers Donald, Doug (Florence), and Cameron (Shirley); and sister Jean Bell (Harold). He is survived by his loving wire of 50 years Joan; his daughter Susan; sons Gord, Rob, and John; grandchildren Kimberly (Jake), Kylen Fox (Stephen),and Liam; great-grandchildren McKinley and Madalyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be having a private gathering in the future to celebrate and remember Ian.
