Robert Milne Gray

Gray, Robert Milne passed away peacefully August 23rd, 2020 at the age  of 94. Robert was born June 12th, 1926 in Brandon, Manitoba. He was the second youngest child of seven, all his siblings predeceased him. He is survived by his long time partner Muriel Toombs.

Robert was the father of six children, Barbara Eileen (Jacob), Kenneth Robert (Janet), Barry Charles (Rose), Heather Dawn (Michael), Leslie Brian (Jeanette),  Murray James. He was always so pleased with any of their achievements.

His love of nature began on a farm north of Brandon where he was brought up, helping his father with the market gardening. Hobbies were numerous; fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, golfing, sailing, boating, as well as playing cribbage and board games.

The Canadian National Railway was  his vocation for over 40 years. He worked as a brakeman, conductor and trainman.

After retirement Robert moved to Cowichan Bay B.C. then to Duncan B.C., after his first hip surgery. He took up oil painting at an older age and became quite proficient in it. A gift of one of his paintings was given to each of his children on one of his trips east.

Robert left a great impression everywhere he went and on everyone he met. He was a very quiet, good natured man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
