Robert Alan James

Robert (Rob) James was a lot of things to many people.  He was an extremely hard worker, an amazing neighbour and friend (because if you were a neighbour you were a friend in Rob’s books), a dedicated and responsible son, but probably most importantly an anchor to his partner Nadine and his daughter Anamaria.  He collected skills and hobbies just like he collected random bits of metal and car parts.  He was always as eager to help someone or lend out some tools as he was to relive his childhood by driving his Willy’s jeep through the trails, sledding with his daughter and the neighbourhood kids, or maybe too enthusiastically throwing water balloons at Anamaria and her friends during her birthday parties.  After a week of hard work he enjoyed the small things on Friday nights by proceeding to eat one too many delicious almond croissants from the neighbourhood bakery then promptly falling asleep on the couch.  During these well-deserved naps he most likely dreamed of becoming a real estate tycoon or as he liked to call it being a “dirt farmer”.  His idea of formal attire was wearing the t-shirt and shorts or pants that had the fewest holes in them. Rob wasn’t a formal person and with that in mind a traditional service will not be held, expect a low-key barbeque or bonfire when the family are ready! Rob may have only had 40 years on earth, but he made them count and made an impact on so many people.  He is survived by his spouse of 14 years Nadine, his nine year old daughter Anamaria, his mother Jeannine, and his father Alan.
