Rita Choquette Obituary

It is with great sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Rita Dianne Choquette (Enns) on Friday, June 19th 2020, at the age of 71, after a brief but bravely fought battle with cancer.

Rita was born in Comox BC on November 7, 1948, and spent a great deal of her full and happy life here on Vancouver Island. She was always there for friends and family and would go out of her way to help others in need. She was a volunteer at the Campbell River Hospital thrift shop for ten years, and she absolutely loved to travel, heading both to far flung destinations halfway around the world and camping trips right here on the island. Mostly, however, Rita was known for her love of gardening.  She called her garden her happy place, and would be content to ‘play’ in the garden for hours on end, no matter the weather.  It was a source of joy for her, and it is where we will hold a small private Celebration of Life for her later this month.

Rita will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband Gérard Choquette of 17 years, as well as her daughter Kami Lee Robb and stepsons Ben and Nick Choquette. Rita was predeceased by her daughter Dawn Cawdell (Robb) and by her parents Elsie and Aron Enns. Rita was blessed with three grandchildren who will also miss her dearly:  Alexis Miller (Cawdell), Skyler Choquette, and Verity Jane Robb, as well as two great grandchildren, Mia and Zayne Miller. She will also be missed by her sister, Christine (Bob) Koop, and two brothers, Gary (Susan) Enns and Tim (Kerry) Enns, along with countless friends and extended family.

Rita passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Without a doubt, she has left an indelible imprint on all those who knew her. She will be missed.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
