Rita Charko Obituary

On Thursday, February 16th, 2023, Rita Charko, a loving Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Wife, and Friend, passed away at the Comox Valley Hospital at the age of 84.

Rita was born in Melville, Sask., the seventh of seven children to Andrew & Freda Augustine. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Charko of 53 years, brother Harold and sisters Emma, and Dorothy. Rita is survived by her loving daughter Gale Schultz (Brent), two boys Carl Charko and Chris Charko (Wendy), 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her brother Wilfred and sisters Evelyn and Hilda.

Carl & Rita settled in Comox after retirement and became snowbirds for a number of years, enjoying their yearly trips to the foothills of Yuma & Arizona. She loved her family, Christmas, gardening, animals and especially her many dogs & cats.

A life well spent, Mom lead by example and actions. The pain and trials are done. There will be nothing but love and peace as we go forward hand in hand.

We love you mom, and we will see you again.
