Obituary
Reg Wickes, beloved husband of Marilyn, and dear father of Anita, Russell, and Jo-Anne, passed away peacefully at home August 17, 2023, with his wife by his side and family close by. He is also survived by grandchildren Cameron, Christine and Naomi, and daughter-in-law Sandra.
Reg was born in St. James, Manitoba, but spent most of his childhood and working years in Calgary. He was a quiet and hard-working man. Reg had wide ranging interests and loved learning and acquiring new skills. A master fixer of broken cars, appliances, and skinned knees, he strove always to live with integrity and honesty, do his best, and care for and help those around him.
Reg and Marilyn travelled to many places in their 62 years together but settled in the Comox Valley in 1989. 34 years of retirement went by far too quickly, but we know he enjoyed every moment.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. To honour Reg’s and the family’s wishes, no service will be held. We invite you to privately celebrate Reg’s memory in your own way.
