Peter Sandland 75, of Comox passed away on Friday 13th October. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diane, sons; James (Thu), Thomas (Alison) and grandchildren; Erica, Ian, Edison, Eli, two sisters; Marj (Stephen) and Lin (Alan) in England.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Eric and Edith and granddaughter Trinity.
Peter was born in Ellesmere Port, England. As a young man he spent time in the merchant navy and then after gaining a university degree in engineering, worked for Lloyds Register. In 1979 Peter, Diane and young son James moved to Canada. He then became a Professional Engineer and had many careers including hydraulics, marine surveying, and mentoring students.
Peter will be remembered for his easy smile and willingness to help. He could often be found on the golf course where he made some of his truest friends. He enjoyed lots of different hobbies – woodworking, cycling, tinkering with cars, all of which he approached with humour and enthusiasm.
He will be dearly missed.
