A bright star in our community dimmed on January 10, 2025, when Paula Louise Kafka (formerly Fortin) passed away at 56 in her Qualicum Beach home on Vancouver Island.
Paula lived a life painted in vivid colors. Her Qualicum Beach home was always filled with the pitter-patter of cat paws and the echoes of hearty laughter. A natural entertainer with an extraordinary capacity for giving, Paula transformed ordinary moments into memories that will sustain those who loved her for years to come.
The rumble of motorcycle engines always turned Paula's head, and her adventurous spirit led her down many scenic roads across Vancouver Island. But regardless of where her journeys took her, Paula always brought back stories that would leave friends clutching their sides with laughter.
In the tapestry of community that makes up Qualicum Beach, Paula's thread was among the brightest and most intricately connected. Her absence leaves a pattern changed but not diminished, as the warmth she shared continues to weave through the lives she touched.
A celebration befitting Paula's vibrant approach to life is being planned, with details forthcoming.
Paula's bright light may have dimmed too soon, but the warmth and love she shared will continue to illuminate our lives forever.
