Mike will be dearly missed!
Predeceased by his mother (Rose Buga), his father (Michael Buga) and his dog Terri.
Survived by his cousin Eileen Bereska of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and many other family members.
I had the honor of knowing Mike for a short 23 years, he was a kind, gentle, giving soul who would help everyone that needed it even though it meant that he would go without himself sometimes. Mike was born in Edmonton, Alberta but spent most of his life on North Vancouver Island, he lived a simple life in Port Hardy with his dog Terri, surrounded by friends. Mike graduated as a Resident Care Attendant in 1994, he worked building bridges in the logging community, as a camp watchman and put a lot of time in at the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary Society Thrift Store (as told to me by Ron Neubauer, a good friend of Mikes’). Michael succumbed to a long bout of cancer in the Port Hardy Hospital comfortable and cared for.
He is finally out of pain.
I would like to thank Kirsten of Community Health Services, Roman of Home and Community Nursing and Dr. Nataros for everything that you did to help Mike and the kind staff at the Port Hardy Hospital for making Michael’s final hours comfortable.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the summer of 2025 if you are interested in attending email: colleenneubauer64@gmail.com
