Michael Doherty

Michael passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Campbell River Hospital on September 18, 2025.  He was predeceased by his parents Bud and Violet Doherty and his brother Richard Doherty.

Michael was born in New Westminster BC but made his home in Campbell River BC.  He was an accomplished musician, singer and an amazing blues harpist, his stage name was “Dr. Harp”.  He worked at the Gold River Pulp Mill until its closing; he then worked for Barrie Brown as a painter for about 10 years until retirement.

Michael leaves behind his wife of 29 years Tina, Daughter Jenika, son Daniel, Stepdaughter Aysha (Dale), Stepson Tyler (Jennifer).  He adored his grandchildren, Destiny, Logan, Lexi and Emmy. 

He will be missed by his brother Norm (Sonjia), sister Marta (Harry), Cousin Dawn, and his long-time buddies Dave (Karen), Larry (Val), and Larry (Karen).  He will also be missed by his Mother in law Doris, sisters in law Joanne (Pat), Angela (Quin), brothers in law Ken (Lucia) and Ted.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
