Mary grew up on the Muschamp farm in Union Bay. She lived in Walchin, Port Alberni and Nanaimo for many years but always called Union Bay home.

Mary was a 75 plus year member of the Eastern Star, a 74 year active member of the Pythian Sisters. She was a faithful attendee of the Union Bay United Church where she had been married in 1947. A member of the Old Faithfulls, the Mary Ellen Circle and the Friendly Port Seniors. She volunteered at the Cumberland Lodge Adult Day Care until she became a client in July 2019. She was also a member of her CGIT group the “Merry Hearts” which met continuously since 1941.

Mary loved Bingo and road trips, especially if there was a casino or two along the way. Her passion for knitting started with socks for WW2 and she has knit anything and everything since including 100 scarves for the homeless this past Christmas. She also shared her skill of pie baking with many school children in the Valley.

She loved to go camping and spent many summers at Loveland Lake with her own children, nieces, nephews and friends. In later years, she and Bud often camped at Deep Bay and shared fun trips to Reno and Thunder Bay. After Bud died she started to travel abroad and especially enjoyed the sun in Hawaii with Linda, Isabell, Gail, Susan, Glenda and Ken.

Heartfelt Thank-yous to Dr. M. Garfinkle and the Kidney Care Team, Dr. L. Chin, Dr. M.
