Vatcher, Marilyn Anne (Nee: Orchison)
January 17, 1948 - June 15, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marilyn Vatcher on June 15, 2024 at the young age of 76.  Marilyn resided in Ladysmith, BC and was born in Stettler, AB.

Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ray Vatcher; daughter Lisa Stark (Gord); son James Vatcher (Kara); and grandchildren Brody, Jordan and Liam; as well as many relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Lawrence (Buster) and Agnes Orchison and brother Lorne.

Marilyn was a devoted, wonderful wife, mom and grandma whose warmth and humour left an incredible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.  She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn loved to garden, sit by a campfire with family and friends, sing with Ray strumming on the guitar, play a number of card games, and boat and explore around Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands and Sunshine Coast.

Mom, we know you put up a strong fight, but we find peace in our hearts knowing that you are with your heavenly family, and you are walking together amongst the green, flowered fields looking over all of us.

A Celebration of Life is being held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Ladysmith First United Church, 232 High Street, Ladysmith, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Association.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at the BC Cancer Agency, Nanaimo General Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Island Health Home Care Services for all their care and support.
