Lillian Mohan Obituary

Lillian Mohan peacefully passed away at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on September 23, 2021.   Lillian is survived by her son Brendan, daughter-in-law Heather and grandchildren Aidan and Abigail, her sister Kathy Leduc and brother Denis (Barbara) Owen and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was born in Iroquois Falls, Ontario to parents Florence and Alex Owen.  The family settled in Brantford, Ontario where Lil and her siblings grew up before branching out to see the world.  Lil eventually moved to Toronto for work where she found the love of her life… Lil and Mike married in 1967.  They soon after settled in Willowdale, Ontario and raised their only son Brendan on Ellerslie Ave until their big move west to Comox, BC in October 1997.  They grew beautiful gardens and beautiful friendships in the Comox Valley due in large part to Lil’s party organizing and seasonal decorating prowess to create a real sense of community in their new BC home.  Lillian had a love of people and was a truly caring and generous soul.  She was also an active member of the Catholic Women’s League at Christ the King.

Shortly after Mike’s passing in October 2020, Lil moved to Nanaimo, BC and spent her final months at Lakeside Gardens living close to family.  We wish to thank all the staff and VIHA care aides there for the support she was afforded.  Also, a thanks to the doctors and nurses at NRGH who provided Lil the best possible care.  Thank you to Dr. Anderson for all his years of caring for Lillian in Comox.  Thank you to Toneff Funeral Services for their preparations and professionalism.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday October 4th at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ the King Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
