It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie (Les) Nolin. Les slipped away peacefully on January 27th, 2026, at the age of 83.
Les is survived by his wife Mary, son Jim (Sarah), daughter Jenny, and grandchildren Ben and Eloise. He is predeceased by his mother Antoinette.
Les was born in Calgary, Alberta on March 3rd, 1942. He spent his childhood in Vancouver, attending Vancouver College. Along with his mother Antoinette, his Uncle John, Aunt Caroline and her husband Norman Jack, all played a central role in his upbringing.
In 1960 he started his career as a Boilermaker. One that would take him to every corner of British Columbia, and to retirement with lifelong friends. In November 1971 he married Mary, whom he would stay with until his final days.
Les was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His interest in boats and sportfishing led him on many adventures all over the West Coast with family and friends.
His family would like to give a heart-warming thank you to all the staff at both the Comox Valley and Royal Jubilee hospitals for their care and compassion during Les’ final days.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
