Leslie Stephen Akenclose

Steve was born in Nanaimo Nov 6, 1939 and passed Oct 30 2022.  Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 63 years Marlene, his sons Les and Ray, daughter Beth (Jeff) granddaughters Lindsey (Cody) and Whitney (Matt), and his adored great grandson Harlan.  He also loved his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Edna and sister Donna Nichols.

Steve was the manager of Shaw Cable in Nanaimo for 37 years from its inception.  He was management consultant for most of Vancouver Island and several cities in B.C. and Alberta.

He was very active in his community.    Minor sports, cub scouts, volunteer fireman and Rotary International.

Many years he was an enthusiastic member of the Quinsom Lake Fishing Club.  He also camped with family and friends from Port Renfrew to San Joseph Bay.  Traveled to England several times to visit his cousins.  Cruising to many countries was another favourite time as well.

A Celebration Of Life is being held on Saturday, June 24th - Noon to 3:00 pm at the Branch 256 Legion - 1630 East Wellington Rd, Nanaimo
