Gieni: Lena Louise (nee Pletti)

Lena passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunridge Place on Thursday, August 26th at 95 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Jack and her brother Archie. She is survived by two children, Linda (Don) Turner and Larry (Cindy) Gieni; four grandchildren: Douglas, Amanda (Troy), Timothy (Antigoni) and Trisha (Brian); four great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Evelyn, Levi and Coen; her sister Sally Fridfinnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lena was born in Italy in 1926 and came to Canada as a young child. She moved to Vancouver Island with her parents, sister and brother, where they made their home in Nanaimo. Lena went to Port Alberni as a young woman for work. There she met and married the love of her life Jack. They made their home in Port Alberni where they would raise their two children, and welcome future grandchildren. Lena lived a full life and will always be remembered tending to her garden, stirring steaming pots of her famous spaghetti, and cuddling up with her grand and greatgrandchildren. There will be a private interment of Lena's remains at the Alberni Valley Memorial Park. We would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Sunridge Place for all the love and care they gave Lena.
