It is with deep sadness that the family has to announce that Laura Ann Spencer passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov 10th, surrounded by her family and care team.
Born in Winnipeg to Judith Ann Mills Spencer and Terry Peter Ronald Spencer, Laura was immediately surrounded by love. A brother Peter arrived 3 years later to start annoying her, which continued for the rest of her life.
Being part of a military family, we moved around quite a bit. Mom passed in 1980, but our little family soon grew with step and adopted siblings. Eventually settling in Black Creek as a young teen, Laura flourished and finished high school at GP Vanier in 1987.
Laura spent the next 40 years experimenting with part-time jobs, helping Dad and Joyce at the farm and eventually their condo. Laura was living her best life.
As time passed, complications from her diabetes took hold of her health and her condition was never the same. What remained up until the end was her extremely friendly nature and her everlasting smile and laughter. She would chat up a storm with everyone she met.
We will always remember her jovial personality and tender heart.
Laura is predeceased by her mom Judy, and dad Terry. She leaves behind brothers Peter and George, stepmother Joyce, loving sister-in-law Victoria, step siblings Tracy and Mark, adoring nieces Sara and Katie and many cousins, aunties, step-nephews, and step-nieces.
Laura is finally out of pain and at peace in Heaven, happily reunited with beloved family that has predeceased her. We will always love her and will miss her dearly. God bless you Laura and thank you for being an important part of our lives.
In lieu of cards and flowers, the family humbly requests donations to be made to Diabetes Canada.
