Kenneth "Ken" Robert John Allen

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of “Ken Allen”. Ken passed away on May 22 at the age of 87 at Glacier View Lodge. He was preceded by his parents “Walter and  Ina” and “brother “David”. He is survived by his wife Flora of 65 years, daughter Catherine (Martin), David (MaryJane), Douglas (Teresa). Grandchildren Laurel (Dave), Mickayla, Mitchell (Charlotte)and Jordon (Teagan) and great grandson Bennett, sister-in-law Elizabeth niece Kerri (Rodger), and cousin Jane (Michael).

 Ken was a Cumberland volunteer firefighter for 36 years and Cumberland’s fire chief for 19 years. Many a family vacation was delayed when the “pager” went off he was always quick to respond.

 Ken and Flora enjoyed many trips to Maui and Las Vegas. Many road trips with family and friends, camping with the grandkids at Comox Lake and all the while   making many memories. Ken was very involved in sports in the community coaching and   officiating for many years.

The family would like to extend a special Thank you to all the staff at Glacier View Lodge for the excellent care, kindness and the smiles shown to Ken during his stay. A special thank you to Dr. Hunter for her care and compassion.

There will be a Celebration of life on June 29th, 2024, from 1-3pm to be held at the Cumberland Fire Hall. Family grave side service to follow at a later date.
