Keith Edson Clarke passed away peacefully in hospice in Courtenay, BC, on February 25, 2026, after walking through a challenging season with cancer. Born October 2, 1952, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, he carried his East Coast roots in his heart and often shared stories from his youth.
He was predeceased by his parents; Doris and Edson, his brothers; Gary, Michael, and Gregory, his wives; Patty Greenhill and Linda Stockand, and lifelong best friend; Bill Davies.
Keith leaves behind his children; Nicole (Jeff), Alisha (Jim), David, and Mandy, along with 11 cherished grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Known for his big smile and even bigger heart, Keith always gave more than he received. He proudly served as a Canadian public servant for 30 years, retiring from CFB Comox in 2007. Family meant everything to him, and he stayed closely connected to his many relatives back home in Nova Scotia.
After much strength and thoughtful consideration, Keith chose Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), allowing him to pass peacefully on his own terms, surrounded by those he loved.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, he asked that friends and family raise a glass in his memory, share a story, and hold the people they love a little closer.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
