Kathleen Mary Oakes

1948-2023

Kathleen Mary Oakes was born in Cadomin, Alberta on December 1, 1948 to Claude and Ina Oakes.  Kathy died peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness with cancer on March 31, 2023 in Nanaimo B.C.

Kathy will be remembered for her dedication and strong work ethic in her career with Canadian Air Lines, Air Canada and her love of her cats, markets, travelling and art. Her family and friends meant the world to her.

Kathy will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter Kim Ryrie (Yvon Dostaler) of Calgary; sister Carol Jackson of Blackfalds; niece Rhonda Jackson (Darcy Dietzen) and family of Innisfail and nephew Trevor Jackson (Tammy Petitapas) and family of Leduc. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, her brother Doug Oakes and brother-in-law Ken Jackson.

A celebration of life for Kathy will beheld on May 28, 2023 – 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the German Culture Centre at 71 Caledonia Ave, Nanaimo, BC.
