John Anthony Coffey

John Anthony Coffey peacefully passed away in his sleep on Saturday, September 5, 2020. John is survived by his beloved wife of almost 58 years, Patricia, his daughter Kasey (Mark) and his son John (Shannon) as well as his grandchildren Emma (Ty), Joe, John (Christina), Chad, Aron and great-grandchildren Liam and Raeleigh. John is also survived by his sister Geraldine and brother Desi.

John was born in Dublin, Ireland - one of fourteen siblings. He relocated to London, where he met Pat and then subsequently, emigrated to Canada in 1967. John worked in the garment industry but eventually pursued a career in real estate.

John will be most missed by his wife, family and friends in Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, Irishman who was full of stories. John loved his crosswords, John Grisham novels and a Tim Horton’s coffee.

John’s family would like to extend their thanks to the exceptional care provided by Dr. Doug Anderson, and all the nurses and staff of the Comox Valley Hospital (Joel), Community Homecare (Eric) and The Views (Roxanne).

Due to current gathering restrictions, a celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
