Jeanette Ellen (Kalinowski) Daines

Our world is sadder today as we announce the passing of our devoted mom, grandma & sister, Jeanette Daines (nee Kalinowski).  She will be lovingly remembered by son Gordon (Laura), daughter Sandra, cherished grandsons Lucas and Zachary Daines, sisters Jo Worster and Joyce Gravelle, brother Ray Kalinowski, and other close relatives and friends.

Jeanette made life-long friendships while growing up in Port Alberni and training as an RN at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.  She nursed at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, then worked at the main hospital in Bermuda for over a year.  Following extensive travel in the UK and Europe, Jeanette returned and married the love of her life, Bob Daines.  They lived in Kitimat and Gold River before moving to Campbell River, where she worked at Quinsam Medical. 

Jeanette had a caring, fun-loving spirit and enjoyed hiking, gardening and playing bridge.  She loved to travel, as curious about the people she met as the places she saw, and had many fond memories of spending summers at Okanagan Lake.

Please join us in a celebration of Jeanette’s life at Dolphins Resort on June 24th from 1-4pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanette’s memory to the CR Hospice Society, Covenant House or  charity of your choice.
