Jane Ellen Bossom of Courtenay, BC, passed away peacefully at home on July 9th, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer. Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Jane started and raised her family in the village of Gold River on Vancouver Island, before relocating to the Comox Valley where she lived for the remainder of her life.
With broken hearts and cherished memories, Jane is lovingly survived by her husband of 30 years David Bossom, three children, Shannon (Robb) of Austin, Texas, Matthew (Jenn) of Courtenay, BC, and Devan (Daniel) of St. Vincent, AB, step-son Cameron of Courtenay, BC, as well as her 9 treasured grandchildren: Diego, Isabel, Luc, Pablo, Mason, Jaime, Nolan, Landon, and Ellie.
Beginning when her girls were young, Jane dedicated many years of her life to the Girl Guides of Canada. She worked her way up to the provincial level as a Camp Commissioner, a passion that continued long after her daughters had outgrown the organization. In more recent years, Jane devoted her time and energy, alongside her husband David, to build a successful design and build landscape construction company from the ground up then establishing and running a pond supply store alongside it.
An avid gardener with a love for all things outdoors and beautiful, Jane loved the ocean, chasing sunsets, and searching for waterfalls. She never forgot a single birthday or anniversary. She was tenacious, resilient, kind, and handled everything life threw at her with a quiet grace. To be loved by her was an incomparable gift, and while she is deeply missed, we know that we’re not truly apart, we’re just loving each other from different angles of the sky.
Interment of Jane's cremated remains will take place in the future.
