Heather Christine Reid

Heather, my dear wife of 40 years, died in palliative care at
NRGH within a week of being admitted. Her long struggle living
with Parkinson’s Disease along with other chronic health issues,
may have curtailed her activities but could not dampen her keen
wit or her spirited engagement with life.

We had started our graphic Nature Design business, Saltsea
Creations, in North Vancouver while we were still teaching at
Elementary School before resigning and coming to Gabriola in
1989. While I concentrated on the art, Heather became a working
member of the Nanaimo Artisans, then the Gabriola Artisans and,
finally, the Agi Association Farmers Market until 2011.

We extend a special Thank You to the Parkinson Exercise and
Support Group at the Rollo Centre for strengthening our bodies
and raising our spirits.

At Heather’s request, there will be no service or Celebration of
Life.
