Obituary for Harvey James Steeves
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey James Steeves, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who departed this life peacefully at his home on February 4, 2025, at the age of 82.
Harvey was born on September 2, 1942, and grew up in the community of Rolla, BC. In 1960, he moved to the beautiful Vancouver Island, which he called home for the remainder of his life.
A devoted member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Harvey was not only a skilled electrician but also served as a chapter president, showcasing his leadership and dedication to his craft. His commitment extended beyond his professional life, as he was also a long-time member of the Cowichan Fish and Game Club, where he shared his passion for the great outdoors with fellow enthusiasts.
Harvey was an avid outdoorsman and car lover. His love for adventure and appreciation for the beauty of nature was evident to all who knew him.
He is predeceased by his beloved son, Clayton, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy, who was his steadfast companion and partner in life’s journey. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Holly (Len), as well as his adored granddaughter, Ashlyn (John). Harvey's legacy also lives on through his brother Bobby and sister Barb (John) as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Harvey's life was a testament to his spirit of adventure, love for his family, and commitment to his community. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
