July 1960- November 2025
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Glenn’s recent passing in hospice. Glenn was a kind, sensitive person with a wonderful sense of humour, and a passion for a wide range of interests: from wood-fired pizza oven-building and baking, to gardening and landscaping, to cycling, kayaking, mountaineering, back-country skiing, and camping.
He credited his big brother Jim with sparking his great interest in outdoor adventure. He loved classical music and being in nature. He used to love visiting Manning Park each fall, for the “turning of the larches.” He had a keen eye for whale-spotting and valued precision firewood stacks. He enjoyed learning about and drinking good wine and socializing and laughing together with even better friends and family.
Glenn refused to let brain cancer define his existence. He remained busy, active, and focused on living well and fully. Friends marvelled at how much he accomplished since his 2019 diagnosis. He was grateful for his numerous opportunities for travel and adventure, and a life without any regrets.
His close friends have said that “his soul will shine in the sky like a beautiful star.” He lives on within the many hearts he touched and will be forever missed by his loving wife Susan and their friends and family. There is no memorial service planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
