Frances Madeline Robertson

It is with much sadness that the family of Frances Robertson informs you of her passing on October 15th 2025, mom quietly slipped away in her sleep that morning at the age of 96.

She is predeceased by her husband Stanley, her son Douglas (Darlene), and her sisters Alice and Shirley, and niece Colleen. She is survived by her daughters Judy and Deb (Tom), and her son Steve (Joannie), 4 granddaughters, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, she loved them all, and her sister Rae. And many nieces and nephews.

Mum had many adventures throughout her life, driving to the Grand Canyon with a car load of girlfriends in the early 50s and riding the mules from top to bottom and back again, skiing up island on Vancouver Island with friends where they carried their ski equipment to the top of the hill and skied down only once as there were no lifts. At seven months pregnant participating in a snowshoe race in Goose Bay, Labrador. Then in 2010, at the age of 81 zip lining in Costa Rica. She also made the 10-year cancer survivor mark this year.

In 2019, she was awarded the Governor General’s Volunteer Medal for over 30 years of service to the Royal Canadian Legion.

Just weeks before mom's passing, she clearly said she wanted to take another cruise. Always ready for an adventure.

She is missed. And she had a huge impact on all of us. Raise a beer to her memory, and we should all be as adventurous.

No service as requested. Mum's ashes will be placed beside Dad’s in Osoyoos.
