Obituary

Eugene DesRoche (Dishie) passed away August 13th. The significance of the 13th is well known to family and friends and is quite fascinating.

Dishie loved family and his home. He would spend hours in his favourite chair watching the world through his large picture window. He was quite the gardener and gave his bounty to anyone who stopped by. He was born 95 years ago (May 13th, 1928) in Comox, never leaving the valley. His childhood home was actually what we know now as Lewis Park. He was not one to travel and always said that the valley was the best place on earth. He was one of the volunteers that helped build Glacier View Lodge and this is where he passed. We would like to thank the staff of Glacier View and Dr. Bakshi for their compassionate care.

Dishie is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Pat, and his children Deb (Ken) Wesner, Brent DesRoche, and Sharlene (Steven) Haley. As well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren (that this totals to 13 is not lost on his family).
