OBITUARY
Ernest (Ernie) Kudrick
Born April 12th (or 13th) 1938, Swan River Manitoba
Ernie leaves behind Sylvia, his devoted wife of 63 years. His daughter Denise (Jamie) Tierney, his son Brent and his treasured grandsons, Calvin (Anika Brown) and Ambrose (Tessa Rohatensky) Tierney. Sisters, Frances (John) Jackson and Ruth Edwards and their families.
The Kudrick family left their homestead in Manitoba and settled in the Niagara area where Ernie attended school and worked numerous odd jobs. Fascinated by flight, Ernie enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and successfully fulfilled his dream to become a fighter pilot (F-86 Sabre).
After his time with the RCAF, Ernie and Sylvia moved their young family to Fort St John BC where they spent many formative years. Ernie ran his own business, Magnum Mud, where his attention to detail was combined with his continued love of flying. He had many stories of his adventures as a bush pilot in the far north. Ernie retired to Nanoose Bay BC and pursued other interests primarily house building, fishing and detailed leather work.
Ernie died suddenly on December 18, in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, with family by his side. The family would like to thank the paramedics, fire department, doctors, nurses and hospital staff that cared for Ernie with compassion and professionalism.
