We are saddened and gladdened to say goodbye to Judy. Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, step mother and great friend to many. After a serious fall resulting in brain injury Judy spent the last 4 months in hospital. Before she could be moved to long term care she passed away - hence the gladness. Anyone who knew her well knew she had no desire to be in long term care. So in typical Judy fashion she did it her way and departed the scene.
Judy was alway busy, whether it was volunteering at Santa’s Workshop, training with her Dragonboat team or getting her hands in the dirt in her garden. She and Glen spent many happy days camping in her beloved Toad. Her one great love was travel and she saw much of the globe and was still planning her next adventure.
Judy was a true island girl. Born and raised in Port Alberni she spent a few years away in the Okanagan and Calgary. Upon retirement she and Glen moved to their haven on Salt Spring Island. She reluctantly moved to Courtenay, but eventually found her niche here and was happy. As she said ‘bloom where you are planted”.
All of our collective family will miss her dearly. She was the glue that held us all together.
