Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial on Saturday March 21st beginning at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Eagles Hall in Ladysmith for Dorothy E. (Betty) Peebles who died peacefully on January 10, 2020.

Betty was born in Turtleford, Saskatchewan in 1937, the 5th of 6 children born to Percy and Isobel Eamon. Her parents were both school teachers who taught in several small schools throughout rural Saskatchewan. Betty attended high school in Regina, Saskatchewan and graduated as a registered nurse in 1959 from Regina General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Nurse for 20 years in several Saskatchewan hospitals before moving to Moose Jaw where she attended the Saskatchewan Technical Institute (STI) for accounting. She worked as a supervisor for Federated Co-op in Saskatoon until retiring to Vancouver Island in 1990. Betty was married to Sylvan White of Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan from 1961 until 1985. She was remarried to George Peebles from 1989 until her passing.

Betty was a dedicated mother, a loving wife and a friend to many. She had a passion for painting, a flair for cooking, an infectious smile and an incredible sense of humour. Her positive attitude and ability to inspire the people around her made her special to all who called her friend.

Betty is survived by her husband George Peebles, sister Ruth Martin (Lawrence), children Nancy Herman (Ted), Robb White (Julie), Nicole White (Todd), step children Pam Rock (David), Rob Peebles (Nancy), Jim Peebles (Michelle), grandchildren Christopher, Thomas, Charles, Oliver, Laura, Heather, Jennifer, Josh, Tony and great granddaughter Hazel.

Special thanks to Cowichan Hospital Chemo Unit, Dr. Attwell, Dr. Wenzel-Smith, Dr. Valorie Masuda, Chemainus Paramedics Unit, Ladysmith Nurses, and Ladysmith Home Care Group. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District and the BC Cancer Foundation.
