Dorothy Megan Nakahara (Giles)

November 23, 1939 - August 17, 2024

Dot passed quietly in the trusted care of loved ones to join her beloved husband Katsumi in joyous dance once more.

A loving and devoted mother, daughter, friend, guide, inspiration and rock of wisdom and comfort, Dot is dearly remembered by all those whose lives she touched through nursing, foster care, Guiding, Anglican church parishes, Ladysmith community events and supports, Parks and Recreation programs, travelling musicians, old dogs, and cold, wet, hitch-hikers.

Predeceased by her loving husband Katsumi and grand-daughter Lisa Grace Waters, Dot is survived by her children Terrie, Mike(Kim), Megan(Warren), and Naomi (Jim), Grandchildren Matthew (Samantha), James(Amber), Eve, Gen, Ayako, Mike and Jessica, Great-grandchildren Ava, Ben and Cedar, Bonus children Chelsea, Alvina, Frank, Wally and Billy(Maggie) as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and life-long loving friends.

A small family service will be held at Telfords chapel in Ladysmith at 1:30pm September 26, 2024. 

Please gather with us on Friday the 27th 1- 6pm at the Eagles Hall, 921 1st Ave in Ladysmith in loving celebration of her.
