Donna Walton Obituary

Donna Lynn Walton, aged 70, of Mill Bay, British Columbia, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family, after a courageous fight against cancer. Donna was born on February 15, 1956, in Galt, Ontario, to Marjorie and George Berkes. In 1980, she moved to British Columbia, where she raised her children, built a meaningful career, and created a wide circle of lasting friendships. In 2010, Donna established a second home in Arizona, where she enjoyed escaping to the sunshine and embracing one of her greatest passions—motorcycling. Donna had a true spirit of adventure and a love for the open road. Riding her Gold Wing motorcycle – a passion she shared with her partner, Frank - brought her a deep sense of freedom and joy, whether she was exploring scenic backroads, traveling to new places, or simply enjoying the ride with friends. She loved the sense of community among fellow riders and the opportunity to experience life with spontaneity and excitement. Her adventurous spirit extended beyond travel—she approached life with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try new things, inspiring those around her to do the same. Living on Vancouver Island also allowed Donna to enjoy another place she loved deeply—the ocean. She found peace and happiness near the water, whether watching the waves, taking in the coastal views, or sharing quiet moments by the shore with family and friends. The beauty and calm of the ocean reflected the sense of appreciation she had for life and the world around her. Donna worked for many years with the provincial government and was known for advocating for the rights of tenants. Outside of work, in addition to riding her motorcycle, Donna enjoyed gathering with family and friends to play games—especially Pegs and Jokers and the dice game—and creating both big and small adventures to celebrate special time with loved ones. Her laughter, kindness, and welcoming nature made everyone feel at home in her presence. Donna will be lovingly remembered by her fiancé, Frank Nemeth; her children, Josh (Elen) and Carrie (James); her cherished grandchildren, Bailey (Sophie), Avery, Madelaine (Francesco), Ella, and Noah; her brother, Dave; and many extended family members and dear friends.
