Donna Jeanne (Fleming) Jackson

On Monday, August 18th, 2025, Donna passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at her home in Courtenay, BC.

She is predeceased by her son, Darrell Robert (Bob) Jackson, her parents; Doris and Herbert Fleming, brothers; Lorne and Dale Fleming and sisters; Joy Newman and Carol Wilson.  

Lovingly remembered by her daughter Paula (Charles) Greaves of Merville, BC and her niece Donna (Rick) Niebergal of Courtenay, BC, grandchildren Carrie, Sarah and Matthew Greaves, Robert (Wendy) Jackson and Sarah Merrill, and great grandchildren Jillian Sparks, Tayton & Emmett Semenuk, John & Mark Greaves, and Skylar & William Greaves and her siblings Velma Nelson, Dennis (Christine) Fleming, Becky (Don) Cousens & Glenn (Bebe) Fleming. Donna is also remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Donna was a kind and caring person who touched the lives of many people. Donna was a faithful member of the Comox Valley Seventh-day Adventist church and attended the Powell River Seventh-day Adventist church for many years. Donna worked at the Overwaitea supermarket on 5th Street until it closed. She loved square dancing, curling, skiing, and golfing. She loved to host a Canada Day celebration to watch the parade on 5th Street with strawberry shortcake. She helped raise her grandson, Robert. She loved to watch Canucks games with Donna and Rick Niebergal and their family.

Thank you to Dr. Lissa Benson at Town Centre Medical and all the VIHA staff that helped Donna stay in her home, especially her private care aides Barb, Vilma, Zuzette, Analie and Thurza. Thank you to her good friend, Mike (Linda) Longland who cared for her property and mowed the lawn for many years.

A memorial service will be held on September 28th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Comox Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church 4660 Headquarters Road, Courtenay, BC
