After a brave fight with cancer over the past year, Dennis James Groseclose, age 67, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021, on his own terms and in his own home. He was surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Dennis was born on April 2, 1954, to parents Margaret and Hilleard Groseclose. He came into this world very quickly and made the local newspaper headlines, making his grand appearance in a Taxi Cab at the North Vancouver Hospital's rear entrance. He grew up and lived most of his life in the Comox Valley. Dennis worked in the Logging Industry most of his life. He was a hard-working man who spent much of his time in logging camps up and down the BC coast. He was well-liked and respected by his co-workers/camp family. A cowboy at heart since a very young age, Dennis loved horses and riding.
He was a dedicated father and grandfather who cared deeply about his family's well-being, particularly his son and granddaughters. Dennis was predeceased by his son, Jim Groseclose, mother Margaret Groseclose, and sister Dianne Martin.
He is survived by granddaughters Diana. Groseclose and Shelby Odarich, father Hilleard Groseclose, brothers Dan (Sherri), Doug, David (Nanette), Dwayne, and special Friends Vicki Parsons, Al & Linda York, plus many more.
Dennis will be missed by many. We hope he is riding through the greenest pastures with that special grin on his face that we all knew and loved. Thank you to Dr. Tanya Daws for supporting Dennis with his final wishes, as well as all the home support workers who were a part of his final days.
