David Ian McKinnon

David McKinnon aged 78 of Comox died peacefully April 2, 2025, in Aitken Hospice at Ocean Front Village after courageously facing pancreatic cancer.

Dave was born in Coniston, Ontario and adopted by mother Birdie and father Murray. He enjoyed a happy childhood, spending many hours fishing, a hobby he carried into his senior years. He spent the first half of his career as an executive in the trucking industry, moving across Canada and ultimately settled in the Comox Valley where he sold real estate. He lived his life richly blessed with many good friends who he could call brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Jo-Ann, daughter Dianne, son-in-law Damian, granddaughters Clare and Lydia, sister-in law Vicki, brother-in-law Greg, niece Julie, nephew Phil, and his most recent addition to his family, Aunt Florence, sisters Carol and Cathy and brother Ed and their families. He is predeceased by his son Doug.

Dave was a good kind person, always willing to extend his hand. Please do the same when you think of him.
