Obituary for David George Kitzel (May 12, 1954 – February 18, 2020)

David (Dave) George Kitzel sadly passed away peacefully on February 18, 2020 at North Island Hospital – Comox Valley.

Dave was known for his deep sense of humour and hospitable friendship. Originally from Haney, BC; Dave moved to the Comox Valley in the 1980’s and quickly planted roots, ultimately in the Union Bay area. Dave spent many years in the BC logging industry; often expressing his appreciation for his chance to explore the beautiful BC Coast. Dave always saw the bright side of life and loved to laugh and make people laugh. He took pride in being a generous host; always striving to make his guests comfortable and happy. Dave was at his happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Dave was an avid volunteer in the community; helping with many charitable and community events as well as youth sports teams in the Comox Valley.

Predeceased by his father Walt, mother Dot and brother Robert; he will be deeply missed by his children Carly and Brock, brothers William and Rocky, his extended family and many, many friends.
