Dale Wesley Atkinson

With heavy hearts, on October 31st 2020 we had to say goodbye to our beloved Dale. He was a cherished son, brother, stepdad, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Dale was born on March 4, 1955. Upon leaving high school he attended Vocational School in Vancouver and became a journeyman mason which he worked at for several years. He then went long shoring until his retirement last year.

He was predeceased by his father Jack Atkinson in 2009. He is survived by his loving mother Ruth Atkinson (nee Brooks), brother Gary (Wendy) Atkinson, sister Karen (Bill) Howie, step children Jason and Abby Paddle, Aunts Wilma Thompson and Vera May, niece Gwen Gilson, nephews Murray Atkinson, Brooks and Jesse Jamison, many cousins and his beloved dog Bo.

Dale was a talented musician. In his teens he was an accomplished classical and rock guitarist and taught guitar in the music store in Ladysmith in the 70's. He also played in various bands with his brother Gary and friends.

Dale will be remembered most for his warm loving heart. Laughter followed him wherever he went in the form of his funny stories and his endless quick wit. To know him was to love him.

There will be a celebration of life when the covid restrictions are lifted.
